Rijksmonument omschrijving:

National monument description:
Description two-layer block-shaped building under a flattened hipped roof. The building has a risalite on both the front and the side, crowned by a gable under gable roof, provided with a wind spring with scalloped edge. The roof has an overhang on consoles and is covered with slate, provided with zinc pirates.
At the rear, a single-storey extension is visible under a gable roof with a wind spring and a gutter, also covered with slate. The building is made of brick with a slightly protruding plinth and is finished with a natural stone band. In the facade there are further bluestone waterframes. It has slanting sides and is equipped with windows, where the skylights are filled with glass in which images are etched. A roof has been placed above the bay window against the gable. To the right of the risalite is the front door, a wooden panel door with moldings and wrought iron grids.
The skylight of the door is filled with stained glass. A balcony with wrought-iron fencing is placed above it, under a wooden awning with a wooden pendant decorated rim with a pent roof. The balcony is accessible via patio doors.
All windows are equipped with skylights and skylights with small rods, above which there are always masonry segment arches. The arched fields are filled with polychrome brickwork. Against the side wall, a wooden conservatory has been placed on a brick substructure. The windows here are fitted with glass with etched images (of birds, reed and bamboo bushes, among others). Above the veranda there is a flat roof with wrought iron fencing. The terrace doors on the side of the building are accessible via a bluestone staircase with wrought iron railing. Next to it is the side entrance.
In the interior, the original layout has been maintained. From the front door there is a central corridor, the corridor from the side entrance leads to this. On both sides of the central corridor there are rooms. At the end of the corridor there is an oak staircase to the first floor. Here, too, there are rooms on either side of the central corridor.
A large number of elements of the interior are still in their original state, such as the floors in the corridors: these consist of granite with figures inlaid in small tiles and the floor in the former dining room (parquet in herringbone pattern).
Other examples from the original design are the panel doors and the glassware in various places with skylights with stained glass, and cut glass with images (of flowers, medallions and garlands, in conservatory and bay window with reed and birds) is provided. The stucco ceilings in the rooms at the front of the building have rosettes in the corners and in the middle, the other ceilings in the front of the building have rosettes.
